The role of ADSYS in FITDRIVE will focus in the development of the ICT framework, cloud data platform and its IoT services; ADSYS will also support the integration of the analytic tools (i.e., AI, ML) developed in WP3 (Driver Performance AI and multimodal machine learning development) with the platform. Furthermore, ADSYS will also contribute to the project management, being involved in the technical and scientific management, WP/task coordination and reporting (WP1); and dissemination and exploitation activities (WP7 and WP6)
The Industrial Neuroscience Laboratory of Sapienza University of Rome, the first in Italy since 1989, develops innovation based on scientific knowledge in the recording and analysis of human biosignals related to brain and other physiological activities. The laboratory is led by Prof. Fabio Babiloni, full Professor of Physiology at the Department of Molecular Medicine of Sapienza itself, and it can rely on the research activities of a multidisciplinary team of bioengineers, psychologists and neurobiologists. The main research focus is the investigation of the human behaviour in different safety-relevant operational environments, such as aviation, automotive and industry, by interpreting the user’s physiological reactions and thus inferring information about its mental and emotional states. The laboratory has been co-funded along several national and international (EU) programmes.
Role in the project: the main activities of UNISAP team within the current project will be to provide the needed algorithms and expertise in biosignal processing and classification, with particular regard to EEG (brain activity), ECG (heart activity) and GSR (skin sweating). These biosignals will be in particular used to evaluate, even in real time, neurophysiological measures of mental and emotional states of the car drivers with respect to each impairing condition resulting in abnormal and unsafe driving performance. In other words, such neurophysiological measures will allow to precisely “label” unsafe driving performance with a specific mental cause (e.g. fatigue, stress, inattention because of drug use) not on the basis of a-priori hypothesis but considering actual altered physiological activities. In addition, UNISAP team will responsible of Ethics and will lead the final validation (T5.4 – Test evaluation) of the FITDrive.
EFA is a non-governmental specialised organisation of driving schools and driving instructors that works to harmonise the CVs of its members and encourage high quality road safety education.
EFA represents the interest of its members with all European authorities, institutions and organisations, concerned with driving instruction, driving instruction’s tuition, driver’s improvement, education of novice services, further education of qualified drivers, environmentally friendly driving, and questions concerning road safety. EFA encourages initiatives leading to an improvement in road safety.
Role in the project: EFA will lead WP6 and will ensure together with AIPSS that relevant stakeholders are aware of the project development and future possibilities. Will be in charge of Training activities that will derive from the pilots and the workshops performed during the project.
