Two months after the beginning of a new year, on the 23th and 24th of February 2022, we had our second FitDrive Consortium meeting occurred virtually.
After six months from the first kick-off meeting, the FitDrivers – 10 partners from 7 countries – were back together, exchanging updates and discussing the next steps for the continuous and successful development of the project!
Despite it being online, we have all managed to witness the rumble of the fitdrive engine driving at full speed. Everybody has displayed and shared the progress being done in the related areas, and the first milestones can already be seen ahead of us.
The objective of FitDrive is to reduce traffic accidents by early identification of driving impairments of any sort, focusing on professional drivers. To this end, a new tool is being developed for the monitoring and evaluation of driving performance, cognitive load, physical fatigue, and reaction time. Physiological and vehicular parameters, and other contextual information will be analysed to create a “customised driving profile”. Pilots will be conducted in the driving simulation laboratories at ITCL in Burgos, and at the Sapienza University in Rome.
Visit our Work Packages section to have a detailed glimpse of all the different stages involved in the development and implementation of the project.
The project has a duration of 42 months and funding of 3.489.864.50€ from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement nº 953432.
